Cricket Betting at dik win — place bets across all formats from T20 to Test
Across BPL, IPL, and international cricket matches, dik win's betting markets give you options ranging from match winner to top batsman. From understanding odds to live betting — it's all here.
Cricket's three formats and the tournaments Bangladeshis follow
Before betting on cricket it helps to understand the format — each one moves at a different pace and the betting markets change accordingly.
T20
Twenty overs of cricket — every ball matters and scores can shift in moments. BPL (Bangladesh Premier League), IPL, and the ICC T20 World Cup are the most followed T20 tournaments among Bangladeshi fans. In this format, live odds move quickly, making the betting experience more engaging.
ODI
In fifty-over cricket, the match story builds gradually. If a team posts a big score in the first innings the betting line shifts, and a strong chase can flip the picture again. The Bangladesh Tigers' international ODI series are a major opportunity for betting in this format.
Test
Five days of cricket. Test matches can end in a draw, so the match winner market has three possible outcomes — team A wins, team B wins, or draw. That is a different calculation from T20.
Across all three formats, the difference in strength between the two teams, pitch conditions, and weather all influence the markets. Taking a little time to analyse these factors makes for a better betting experience.
How betting on football and other sports differs
Football Betting
In football, the match winner market has three outcomes — home team wins, away team wins, or draw. This is different from T20 and ODI cricket, which usually produce a clear winner. Handicap and goals over/under markets are more common in football. Understanding the recent form of both teams is important before betting.
Other Sports
Betting markets for sports like tennis, badminton, or kabaddi are generally simpler — mainly match winner and set handicap. These sports produce quick results so live betting tends to be more active. However, they do not offer the variety of markets found in cricket, where each ball or over is its own betting opportunity.
What sets cricket apart is its multi-layered markets — beyond just the match result, you can bet on individual overs, wickets, and partnerships. This depth is what has made cricket betting so popular in Bangladesh. All these markets are available at dik win Bet.
6 popular cricket betting markets
These are the most used markets in dik win's cricket betting section. Each works a little differently — once you understand them, making decisions the next time becomes easier.
Match Winner
The most straightforward market — will team A or team B win? T20 and ODI generally have no draw, so you choose between two options. For example, if team A's odds are 2.10, a ৳500 bet returns ৳1,050 if team A wins.
T20 ODI TestToss Market
The result is known before the match even starts — which team will win the toss? This is entirely down to chance and both teams usually have roughly equal odds. It is a simple option for a quick bet.
Pre-match SimpleTop Batsman
Who will score the most runs in an innings or across the whole match? Pick any batsman from team A. Odds in this market tend to be higher because there are many choices — so a correct pick can give a good return.
High odds Innings-basedTotal Runs Over/Under
The bookmaker sets a target number — say 165 runs. You decide whether team A will score more than that (over) or less (under). Pitch conditions and weather directly affect this market.
Over/Under TotalMulti Bet
Combining multiple bets multiplies the odds and increases the potential return. Example: betting on three separate matches at odds of 1.40, 1.50, and 1.80 gives combined odds of 3.78 — a ৳100 bet returns ৳378 if all win. However, if any one bet loses, the full ৳100 is gone.
Multiple matches High return Higher riskMethod of First Wicket
How will the first wicket fall — bowled, caught, LBW, run out, or another way? This is a specialist market that is more common in T20. Odds are generally higher because there are multiple possible outcomes.
T20 Specialist marketHow to read decimal, fractional and American odds
Odds are the language of betting — they tell you how likely an outcome is and how much you get back if you win. The same odds can be written in three different formats.
| Format | How it is written | Example value |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | Decimal number | 3.00 |
| Fractional | Fraction | 2/1 |
| American | With a + or − sign | +200 |
Decimal 3.00 = Fractional 2/1 = American +200 — all three say the same thing. If team A wins, total return is ৳1,500 (৳1,000 profit + ৳500 stake). If team A loses, the full ৳500 is gone.
Decimal 1.80 = Fractional 4/5 = American −125. American minus odds mean how much you need to stake to make a ৳100 profit — here it is ৳125. If team B wins, a ৳500 bet returns ৳900 in total (৳400 profit).
A simple rule to remember
- With decimal odds, multiply the odds by your stake to get the total return.
- With fractional odds, the first number is profit and the second is the stake.
- American + odds show profit on a 100 stake; − odds show how much you need to stake to make 100 profit.
- dik win generally uses decimal format — it is the simplest.

How odds change when wickets fall and overs progress
In-play or live betting is the most dynamic part of cricket. You can still place bets after the match has started and the odds update with every event. Here are a few examples:
When a wicket falls
If team A makes a good start but then loses two quick wickets, team A's odds to win lengthen (meaning the bookmaker now sees them as less favoured) and team B's odds shorten. Backing team B at this moment could offer a better return than before the wickets fell.
During the powerplay overs
In T20, fielding restrictions apply for the first six overs. After a big over in this period, the total runs over/under market moves quickly. If a particularly high-scoring over is bowled, the odds for the under market lengthen — because there is now less room for runs in the remaining overs.
In the final 5 overs
If team A needs 60 runs from the last five overs in a chase with 6 wickets in hand, team A's odds to win will shorten. But a run out or two quick wickets at that point can flip the odds again.
Rain and DLS
If rain stops play, the target may be revised under the DLS method. At that point live betting is temporarily suspended, and once the new target is set it reopens — with odds reset accordingly.
Staying calm during live betting is important. Rather than placing large bets impulsively, take time to follow the flow of the match. Remember that betting is for entertainment — winning and losing are both possible.
A few tips for staying aware when betting on cricket
Set a budget before you start
Before you begin betting, decide on a fixed amount per week or month that you are comfortable spending on entertainment. Do not go beyond that limit — chasing losses by placing larger bets rarely produces better results.
Focus on one match at a time
Spreading attention across too many matches at once makes it harder to follow any of them properly. Start by picking one or two matches, learn a little about the recent form of both teams and the pitch conditions, then place your bets.
Keep the number of selections low in a multi bet
A multi bet with three or four selections is reasonable — but as the number grows, the chance of all of them winning drops quickly. Low selections for lower risk versus more selections for higher potential return — choose based on your own preference.
Be careful in live betting when odds get very short
It is easy to place a large bet on impulse during live betting, but when odds are very short (such as 1.10 or 1.15) the return is also very small. That kind of bet offers little profit while the risk of losing the full stake remains.
Betting is entertainment — not income
Cricket betting adds to the enjoyment of watching a match, but it should not be seen as a source of income. Winning consistently is not guaranteed — any result is possible. Enjoy betting, but stay within your limits.
